Gabriel Menotti - Urban Fabric
Gabriel's artist residency at Access Space asked. “Would You Like To Build Another Sheffield? Have you got opinions about the city? Would you like to see changes to the urban environment?” Gabriel Menotti spent his time looking at methods of how to prototype a city.
His project Urban Fabric, was an on-going workshop/exhibition aimed at constructing a collective maquette of the city using the rapid prototyping equipment of Access Space's Refab Space.
The work explores how these tools might enable hands-on agency over large-scale environments and foster critical dialogue.

Gabriel Menotti completed his PhD at Goldsmiths College, University of London, in 2012 and currently lives in Brazil.
Emma Powell & Meg Buick – Refab Cormorant
Puppet makers Emma Powell and Meg Buick were our Refab Space artists in residence for December. They wanted to experiment using new techniques available to them when using the equipment in Refab Space. They created a new work for this exhibition, a cormorant puppet operated by two puppeteers with articulated wings, feet and head.
