Carl Cutting's work is about personal identity and how outside influences impact on it.
He looks at the issue of self and how parts of it might simply be “borrowed” from sources in the environment. As time moves forward new selves emerge as a result of one's experience engaging with people, objects and places. He asks whether we ever really discover who we are other than a by seeing the product of influences on ourselves?
Carl studied fine art at Nottingham Trent University School of Art & Design
