Access Space Community Learning Programme

January 2008: Community Learning events 2008; The Big Lottery funding for the Community Learning Programme runs from August to August. In 2008, we will be running 3 events, these could be large scale like the Green Fair last year or small scale intensive events.; The main aims of the Community Learning programme are to introduce people to recycled technology, open source software, the potential for creativity with computers and the broader activities in Access Space. We don't hope to get every participant building a computer in the space of one event but we do hope to empower them at the events, so that they feel with a little investment of time, they could build a computer if they wanted to (and people are often surprised at how much easier it is than they expect it to be).; At the events themselves, we're really open to working with the needs of the group, we won't arrive expecting everyone to be able to build a website or write a letter or create a spreadsheet, but if that's what you're interested in then we can spend the whole day helping you to learn!
